Spain is well known for its sangrias; however, they are not as popular as you would think. Wine, beer or some other soft drinks are a lot more common across Spain. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find sangrias unless you’re visiting the coast during the summer!
With this simple recipe you can now prepare a refreshing homemade sangria, perfect for the hot summer days. All you need are some alcoholic drinks, some fruit and a big jar to mix everything together. It’s that easy!

Sangria Recipe
With this simple recipe you can now prepare a refreshing homemade sangria, perfect for the hot summer days.
Ingredients
- 1 l red wine
- 33 cl orange soda
- 1 glass cognac or brandy
- 2 peaches
- 1 pear
- 1 lemon
- 1 orange
- 50 grams sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ice
Instructions
- Take a jar or something similar and mix the wine, cognac and sugar very well.
- Squeeze the orange and add the juice to the jar. Peel the peaches and pear and cut them into cubes of about 4 by 4 cm. Toss them into the jar.
- Cut the lemon into 2 halves and squeeze one of them on top. Cut the other one into slices and add them, together with the cinnamon stick.
- Mix everything well and keep the sangria in the fridge for two hours.
- After two hours you can add the orange soda and some ice. It's better if you don't add too much, because we don't want it to be watery.
